"What! Are you crazy to take up Business Ethics as your project?" asked a classmate to a girl.
She assertively said, "Yes! At times when people are looking at making easy money, making an economic slowdown by cost-cutting, pay cuts, and job losses, I genuinely feel that working on this project will highlight those businesses who will set the right example to the people."
"It is just not business ethics. I want people to think about the ethical values that they follow in their personal lives as well. How timely are you in releasing monthly payments of people dependent on you like your housemaids, your milkman, your repair service team?"
Your attitude towards those who are financially dependent on you and cannot afford to live the life that you live - is a statement about the ethics that you follow in your life.
Thus, one should speak transparently as much as one can, commit only to what one can fulfill, and also engage with things that are manageable by them if one wants to live an ethical life.
