Vaisakhi is also called Basoa or Baisakhi.
It is the first day of the month of Vaisakh.
Vaisakhi is usually observed on 13 or 14 April every year.
Vaisakhi is a harvest festival mainly celebrated by the Sikh community.
On this festive day, Sikhs visit Gurudwaras, organize kirtan processions, donate or give to charity, and prepare special foods.
Vaisakhi is an important festival as it also celebrates the birth (13 April 1699) of the Khalsa order by Guru Gobind Singh who was the tenth Guru of Sikhism.
