In the 7th December 2023 episode of Chookar Mere Mann Ko, Deepa defends Lavanya in the international flower competition that Lavanya didn't know about her participation.
However, Suraj clears the doubts of the participants by noting that the audience can judge the work of the contestants and not blame his mother Lavanya, and his wife Deepa.
The audience votes for Deepa's handwork of flower arrangement and she wins the competition again.
However, she withdraws her participation because she doesn't want her mother-in-law Lavanya to be accused of any partiality.
Suraj stops Deepa and hands her a cheque. However, Deepa doesn't understand Suraj's intentions and tears the cheque.
This irritates Suraj who again gets a panic attack. However, when Suraj reaches back home, he sees an interview with Kabir who introduces his wife.
However, Suraj is afraid to face reality and switches off the TV and even tries to break it.
Lavanya makes Suraj understand that reality is different than what he thinks about Kabir and Deepa.
However, he doesn't listen and keeps crying. Just then Shona comes and changes Suraj's mood.
Shona has a day off and wants to meet Phoolmaa. She tells Suraj to take her to Phoolmaa, however, Lavanya stops them because she doesn't want Suraj to know that Phoolmaa is only Deepa.
Urmi comes to Shona's rescue and takes her to Deepa's home without anyone knowing about it.
Urmi wants to know why Deepa has come back to Kolkata and that's why meets Deepa at her house with Shona.
While Shona keeps playing, Urmi enquires Deepa about her intention of coming back home.
Deepa denies coming back home and says that she doesn't want Suraj's family to be shattered by her presence.
Urmi doesn't clarify Deepa's misunderstanding that Suraj is not married to Mishka and Shona is not their daughter. She lets Deepa live with that misunderstanding so that she will not return Sengupta house.
On her way back home, Shona meets Rupa at her school and asks her school pupils to play with her.
However, Rupa's classmates tease Shona for her stammering. Rupa gets angry and tries to fight with a small boy who happens to be the son of the principal.
Joy sees Rupa and Shona's conversations of fighting over a gift given to both of them by Deepa.
Rupa and Deepa get called by the principal office where Deepa gets to know about the fight.
Deepa makes the principal understand how challenging it is to raise Rupa but she is not upset that Rupa voiced her opinion against injustice.
The principal understands Deepa's viewpoint and also congratulates her as Rupa has ranked first in the school.
The principal tells his son to apologize to Rupa and also asks Rupa to say sorry and she will not indulge in any physical fight.
Rupa attends an inter-school function with Deepa where she is going to be felicitated for her academic progress.
Suraj and his family and Mishka also attend the function as it is conducted in Shona's school and Shona also takes part in a dancing contest.
Rupa gets into a funny banter with Suraj while Shona gets emotional seeing Deepa.
Lavanya feels sad to have separated Shona from Deepa when Shona was born. However, she enquires Deepa about her second granddaughter.
Deepa says she won't reveal the details and searches for Rupa.
However, Rupa goes with Suraj. Mishka is disturbed seeing the closeness between Rupa, Suraj, and Shona. Thus, she decides that after the function, she will do something wrong with Deepa, Shona, and Rupa as she doesn't want them to destroy the evil plans that she has been making for several years.
