'Kalki 2898 AD' has turned out to be one of the year's biggest hits.
As the film continues to dominate the box office, director Nag Ashwin has shared some exciting details about the casting and action sequences.
In a recent chat with Indian Express, Nag Ashwin revealed that Amitabh Bachchan was his top pick for the role of Ashwatthama.
For Ashwin, Amitabh Bachchan was the only choice for Ashwatthama, a character from the Mahabharata known for his warrior prowess.
He went on to explain that having Bachchan and Prabhas, two massive stars in their own right, on screen together was a dream come true.
Bachchan's role required him to portray an 8-foot-tall, powerful figure blessed with divine strength.
Ashwin described their fight scenes as a highlight, considering Prabhas is renowned for his action roles.
“Seeing Bachchan Sir, one of our biggest stars, face off against Prabhas, one of the top action heroes today, was truly special,” he added.
Apart from these two stars, 'Kalki 2898 AD' also features Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan.
Ashwin praised Deepika’s essential role in the film, emphasizing how critical her character is to the story.
“We had many discussions about her role, and it became clear that removing her character would mean there’s no story,” he explained.
Since its release on June 27, the film has received rave reviews and has grossed over Rs 1000 crore worldwide.
Amitabh Bachchan recently expressed his gratitude for the film’s success on social media, sharing his appreciation with fans.
With such a strong response, fans are now eagerly anticipating the sequel to 'Kalki 2898 AD.'
