Nag Ashwin Reveals Inspirations for Kalki 2898 AD: Guardians of the Galaxy and Star Wars

 Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi movie, Kalki 2898 AD, has been praised for its creative world.

Some thought it was inspired by Harry Potter, but Nag clarified that wasn't the case.


In an interview, he shared that Guardians of the Galaxy and Star Wars were the real inspirations.


Nag loves Star Wars and mentioned that Harshith Reddy’s character, Luke, is based on Luke Skywalker from Star Wars.


He also explained that Kamal Haasan’s character, Supreme Yaskin, wasn't inspired by Harry Potter's Voldemort but by old Tibetan monks and the novel "The Picture of Dorian Gray."


Kalki 2898 AD has made over ₹800 crore globally and ₹500 crore in India, making it the most expensive Indian film ever, with a budget of ₹600 crore.


Released on June 27 in six languages, it stars Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Prabhas, and more.
