Pankaj Tripathi Unfazed by Box Office: Focuses on Craft Over Numbers

Pankaj Tripathi, the versatile actor recently seen in "Mirzapur" season 3, has a refreshing perspective on box office performance.

Despite his latest film "Main Atal Hoon," a biopic of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, not finding massive commercial success, Tripathi remains unfazed.

In a recent interview with News18, Tripathi emphasized his dedication to his craft.

"If I know that I've given my 100 percent during the shoot and stayed true to my craft, why should I feel bad about it?" he stated.

This focus on quality over commercial numbers is a welcome change in the industry.

While "Main Atal Hoon" did not break box office records, it reportedly managed to return its investment, grossing ₹12.49 crore worldwide according to Sacnilk.com.

Looking ahead, Tripathi is all set to entertain audiences in the upcoming horror-comedy "Stree 2," releasing on August 15th.

This movie reunites him with Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, and other talented actors.

Lessons:

Focus on the craft:

Prioritize giving a strong performance over box office numbers.

This can lead to more fulfilling work and potentially even cult classics.

Box office isn't everything:

Commercial success doesn't define a film's worth.

A movie can be well-made and financially responsible even if it doesn't break records.

Learn from both success and failure:

While box office performance isn't his main focus, Tripathi acknowledges its importance.

Learning from both successes and failures can help actors choose strong projects in the future.

Balance between commerce and art:

There's a space for films that are both critically acclaimed and commercially viable.

"Stree 2," Tripathi's upcoming film, is an example of this balance, with a successful first film and a star-studded cast.
