Siddharth Responds to Telangana CM's Drug Awareness Request

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy suggested that actors seeking permission for outdoor film shoots or wanting to raise ticket prices should make videos to raise awareness about drug abuse and cybercrime.

Actor Siddharth disagrees with this mandate, believing that actors are already socially responsible.

During a promotional event for Shankar’s Indian 2 in Hyderabad, Siddharth was asked if actors are 'socially responsible,' referring to the Telangana CM's request.

Siddharth responded, stating that actors naturally act responsibly and don't need a mandate to do so

Siddharth emphasized that actors do things based on their conscience, not because they are told to by a CM.

He expressed that actors are willing to cooperate with government requests but don't need conditional terms for their efforts.

Indian 2, also titled Bharateeyudu 2 in Telugu and Hindustani 2 in Hindi, is a sequel to the 1996 hit film Indian.

Kamal Haasan reprises his role as Senapathy, a freedom fighter turned vigilante fighting corruption.

The film also stars Siddharth and Rakul Preet Singh, with Kajal Aggarwal's scenes to be featured in Indian 3. The long-awaited film is set to release on July 12.

Lessons Learned

Social Responsibility is Innate: Siddharth's response highlights that actors already understand their role in society and often engage in social causes voluntarily.

Voluntary Action Over Mandates: People are more likely to contribute positively to society when they act out of their own conscience rather than being forced.

Effective Communication: Siddharth effectively communicated his stance, emphasizing past actions to support his argument, showing the importance of context and experience in discussions.

Collaboration with Government: While willing to support government initiatives, it's important that such collaborations are based on mutual respect and understanding rather than conditional terms.

Role of Media in Social Awareness: The film industry, through its reach and influence, can play a significant role in spreading awareness about social issues, making it important to leverage this potential responsibly.
