Thangalaan Trailer: Chiyaan Vikram Leads in Action-Packed Period Drama

The long-awaited trailer for Chiyaan Vikram's new movie, "Thangalaan," is finally out. 

This Tamil film, set in the 19th century at the Kolar Gold Mines, promises to be an exciting historical action drama. 

These mines were also the setting for the hit Kannada series KGF. Directed by Pa Ranjith, known for movies like "Sarpatta Parambarai," "Kabali," and "Kaala," the trailer showcases impressive performances, especially from Vikram and Malavika Mohanan. 

After many delays, the movie is set to release on August 15, 2024, coinciding with Independence Day.

In the trailer, Chiyaan Vikram plays a fierce tribal leader helping the British search for gold in their village mines. 

Things take a dark turn when a sorceress named Aarathi, played by Malavika Mohanan, curses them. 

The film follows Thangalaan as he fights back with all his might.

Viewers are thrilled about the trailer, with comments like “Oscar confirmed” and “Pa Ranjith + Chiyaan Vikram = History of Indian Cinema.” Many also shared heart emojis in excitement.

The film features a strong cast, including Parvathy Thiruvothu, Pasupathy, Daniel Caltagirone, Hari Krishnan Anbudurai, and Vettai Muthukumar. 

"Thangalaan" is produced by KE Gnanavel Raja under the Studio Green banner, with music by GV Prakash. 

Originally set for a January 26, 2024 release, it was postponed to August 15 and will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Apart from "Thangalaan," Chiyaan Vikram is also working on "Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2," directed by SU Arun Kumar. 

This movie stars Dushara Vijayan, SJ Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu (making his Tamil debut), and Siddique in key roles.
