Kalki 2898 AD Surpasses Jawan, Becomes 4th Highest Grossing Indian Film

Big win for Prabhas! His new movie Kalki 2898 AD just became the 4th highest-grossing film ever in India!

After a month in theaters, Kalki 2898 AD has raked in over ₹760 crore ($93 million) in India alone, beating out Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan which made ₹760 crore in total. 


This means Kalki did even better than Jawan, both in terms of total earnings and pure profit (after theater fees).


The sci-fi action film, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Deepika Padukone, seems to be a huge hit across India. 


The Hindi version is leading the pack with ₹350 crore, followed closely by the Telugu version at ₹335 crore.


While Kalki takes the 4th place spot, Prabhas' other movie Baahubali 2 still holds the title of highest-grossing film in India with a whopping ₹1417 crore! KGF: Chapter 2 and RRR come in second and third, respectively.


Kalki 2898 AD has also crossed the ₹1000 crore mark worldwide, which is a pretty sweet achievement! 


The movie's creators thanked fans for their love, saying "We poured our hearts into this film, and you embraced it with open hearts." That's awesome!
