What Bollywood Can Learn – Simple Tips from Vikram Bhatt

Lately, many Bollywood movies are not doing well. People are not going to the theatres like before.

Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt, who made films like Raaz and Ghulam, has shared some good ideas on what needs to change. Let’s look at the lessons we can learn from what he said.

1. Make Movies for Everyone

Vikram said Bollywood stopped making fun, exciting movies that many people enjoy.

Instead, they started making serious or very different kinds of films that only a few people liked.

But South Indian films still make big, dramatic movies with action, music, and heroes. That’s why their movies are doing well.

People want to cheer, clap, and have fun in the theatre. Bollywood used to do that too but forgot how.

Lesson: Make movies that people enjoy watching together—movies that bring energy and excitement.

2. Make People Feel Excited to Watch

Vikram said his last movie Tumko Meri Kasam had good reviews but didn’t work because people didn’t feel the need to watch it quickly.

These days, movies should make people say, “I want to see this right now!”

There should be something exciting—like a twist, drama, or big moment—that makes people rush to the theatre.

Lesson: Your movie should make people excited to watch it on the very first day.

3. Story is More Important Than Big Stars

Vikram believes that many movies focus too much on famous actors and not enough on the story. But if the story is strong, people will like it—no matter who the actor is.

He also said that music and streaming companies should support movies with good stories, not just big names. This will help filmmakers take more risks.

Lesson: A great story matters more than a big star.

4. Bring Back Hero Style

Vikram shared something funny but true. He said people used to clap when the hero entered the scene in style—with slow motion, sunglasses, and music.

Now, the hero just walks in and sits at a desk. That’s no fun!

South Indian movies still show heroes in exciting ways, and fans love it. Bollywood can do that again too.

Lesson: Show heroes in a cool, dramatic way—it gets people excited.

Final Thought

Vikram Bhatt is reminding us what Bollywood used to be good at—fun, emotion, music, and drama.

If Bollywood brings that back, people will return to theatres with big smiles.
