Anurag Kashyap Thanks Vijay Sethupathi for Helping Fund Daughter’s Wedding

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap recently shared that he was worried he couldn’t afford his daughter Aaliyah’s wedding.

But help came from a friend — actor Vijay Sethupathi.

Anurag said that while working on his film Kennedy, he kept meeting Vijay at a neighbor’s house. 

Vijay told him about a role in the Tamil film Maharaja. At first, Anurag said no, but when he told Vijay that he needed money for his daughter’s wedding, Vijay offered to help.

Vijay helped Anurag get the role in Maharaja, and the film turned out to be a big success, earning ₹190 crore at the box office. 

Thanks to that, Anurag could help pay for Aaliyah’s wedding, which took place in Mumbai in December 2024.

Many stars attended the wedding, including Abhishek Bachchan, Suhana Khan, and Bobby Deol. 

Anurag also thanked Vijay in the Kennedy movie credits with a “Thank You” card.
