The results of the ATKT exams were finally out, and Raghu felt a wave of relief wash over him as he saw the passing marks for all his subjects.
After months of hard work, he had cleared the exams and was officially done with his BBA course.
He couldn’t help but feel a sense of accomplishment, but there was one person he couldn’t wait to share the news with—Reena.
Reena, too, had received her semester 1 results, and she was overjoyed with her performance.
She had worked tirelessly, and it had paid off.
The excitement of doing well in her exams was palpable, but there was a sense of sadness in her too, knowing that Raghu, her senior and newfound friend, was about to leave college now that he had completed his course.
As Raghu walked across the college campus, he spotted Reena sitting outside the cafeteria, chatting with some of her friends.
He approached her, a Cadbury chocolate bar in his hand, a small token of appreciation for her support and friendship.
“Hey, Reena,” Raghu greeted with a smile, holding out the Cadbury. “I just wanted to say congratulations on your results. You did really well!”
Reena’s eyes lit up as she smiled back at him. “Thank you, Raghu! I’m so happy with my results. It’s been a lot of hard work, but I’m glad it paid off.”
Raghu nodded, feeling a bittersweet sense of pride for her. “I’m really proud of you. And I’ve got good news too. I cleared my ATKT exams! I’m officially done with the BBA course.”
Reena’s smile widened, and she reached out to take the chocolate bar. “That’s amazing! Congratulations, Raghu. You’ve worked so hard, and I knew you’d do it.”
They stood there for a moment, both basking in the joy of their achievements, but an awkward silence followed.
Raghu knew that this was the moment he had been dreading. He was about to say goodbye.
“I guess this is it,” Raghu said softly, his voice tinged with sadness.
“I’m leaving college now, and I’m not sure when we’ll see each other again. But I just wanted to say thank you for everything, Reena. You’ve been a great friend, and I really appreciate all your help.”
Reena felt a pang in her chest. She hadn’t realized how much she had grown attached to Raghu in such a short time.
He was more than just a senior; he had become someone she could talk to, someone who understood her.
The thought of losing that connection made her feel a little empty.
“I’ll miss you, Raghu,” Reena said, her voice quieter than usual.
“It feels weird to say goodbye. You’ve been a great friend, and I’ve learned a lot from you, not just in academics, but in life.”
Raghu looked at her, his expression softening. “I’ll miss you too, Reena. But you know, life moves on. We can’t hold on to the past forever. I wish you all the best in everything you do.”
There was a moment of silence between them, both of them feeling a little restless and unsure of what to say next.
Neither of them had exchanged phone numbers, and Reena wasn’t on social media, which left them with no way to keep in touch.
They had shared so many meaningful conversations, and the thought of losing that connection felt strange to both of them.
As they parted ways, a feeling of unease settled over them. Raghu walked away with a heavy heart, unsure of how to move forward without the friendship he had come to cherish.
Meanwhile, Reena sat back down, feeling a strange restlessness gnawing at her.
She couldn’t shake the thought of Raghu and their unspoken bond.
Both of them went about their days, but something was missing.
There was a sense of unfinished business, a connection that had never fully been realized.
Neither of them could stop thinking about the other, wondering if they would ever see each other again, or if their paths would cross in the future.
As the day went on, both Raghu and Reena couldn’t help but feel that something had shifted.
The goodbye wasn’t just the end of a chapter—it was the beginning of a new kind of uncertainty, one that neither of them was prepared for.
